SHADOWS The silent spendor of the rosy sunset Has melted with the darkening of the sky. Now ruffled gray clouds shade the rising moon Before slowly sliding by. And I am here below them, waiting, Surrounded by the cold and soundless night, Looking for my friend to come And make my fears take flight. I finally had to face the truth- I fought it, denied it, but still it came- Those feelings that drew us together once, No longer are the same. Too apprehensive to call, I wrote, Saying i'd be here at eight, Asking, please will you meet me, Telling that I'd wait. I have to know: is it over? Is it possible to make a new start?
